If at first you don't succeed...

Today I got out of bed at a respectable 10:30am and had my morning coffee with sugar. Soon after, I discovered that my first delivery of Lite n Easy was waiting for me on the doorstep. Before unpacking it, I attempted to weigh myself on digital scales. My last reading had been 152-point-something-kilograms. Today the digital display simply read ‘O-ld’, which is either the scales exclaiming ‘Oh lord!’ or shorthand for ‘Overload’. Definitely time to get back on the weight loss train. My second coffee I had without sugar.

In 2014 my weight loss was a failure. I actually gained a few kilos by NYE, with a couple of rapid drops in weight throughout the year; the most significant being during and shortly after my hospital admission, when I dropped 10kg. All that and more came back to bite me on my well-padded arse.

Adding to my embarrassment was my public (internet) declaration at the beginning of last year that I would drop to 100kg by 2015.

Last night I deliberately gorged myself on ice creams (five of them) and two blocks of chocolate; one last hurrah before heading down a 1,800-calorie-a-day path to a lighter me.

If nothing else, I can positively say I will be eagerly awaiting each delivery of food. I'll have to wait quite some time before I hit my goal weight but each and every week I will get to do this (and perhaps some more creative things) with the dry ice packets that come with the frozen meals:
